Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tugboat Captain to lead our team with a focus on safety,
efficiency, and excellence. The Captain will be responsible for overseeing operations, ensuring
compliance with regulations, and managing crew performance. This role requires strong
leadership abilities and a solid understanding of mechanical systems to effectively manage the
rig and its operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the crew, ensuring all team members are performing their duties effectively and safely.
- Oversee the operation of the rig, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational
standards. - Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning
and maintenance. - Develop and implement training programs for crew members to enhance skills and
knowledge. - Collaborate with other departments to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Enforce compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
- Act as a point of contact for emergency situations, demonstrating strong decision-making
skills under pressure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the maritime or related industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to rig operations and maintenance.
- Ability to manage diverse teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Military experience is a plus but not required; however, candidates should demonstrate
discipline and commitment to safety standards. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey
information clearly to team members. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically in high-pressure
situations. - Must possess a valid Merchant Mariner Credential with a 200 Ton Endorsement for
Towing
